I met with Congressman Mark Kirk today to talk about diabetes.
During my conversation with Congressman Mark Kirk, I asked him to remember me and all diabetics on his return to Congress so he could help find a cure for this disease. He promised me he'd do everything he could to make sure that we had good health care and funding for diabetes research to help find us that cure. Congressman Kirk is a big supporter of diabetes research and spent a lot of time with us listening to our stories. He was really nice and I had so much fun!
What's Next
My plan is to visit Congressman Kirk in Washington next and hopefully have an opportunity to speak to Congress. If they put a face with this disease, it'll make them understand why it’s so important that they continue to fund the research and find a cure.
