I was chosen to go back to Washington D.C. as a representative for the American Diabetes Association and speak in Congress to our Senators and Congressman on behalf of all diabetics.
I once again asked for continued funding for the Special Diabetes Program that has been helping to advance research in curing, treating, and preventing diabetes and its complications. I put a face to diabetes for our Congressman and Senators so when they vote for funding, they'll remember all the people that suffer from this disease. Senator Kirk made a special exception to see me while I was there and it was a really productive visit. He's very supportive of all diabetics.
